Popular Remote Connection Options in DameWare Remote Support

Level 14

DameWare Remote Support allows IT admins to connect to remote computers wherever they are situated—whether they are inside the network or outside, and whether they are attended or unattended. To underscore and make clear the value DameWare brings to your IT team, we made this graphic explaining all the popular remote connection options available in DameWare Remote Support.

The latest release of DameWare Remote Support v12.0 has introduced a new connection type – which is #4 in the graphic below – unattended, over-the-Internet remote session. This adds to DameWare’s many remote connection capabilities allowing IT pros to provide on-time IT support and administration to remote computers whether they have any end-users present or not.

I would really like to see unattended from the Internet to the LAN.   We have to do Logmein.com for our Internet to LAN support and I hate it.   I love Dameware and would love to be able to have a tool, once i established my credentials to gain me access to my database of PC's and manage them.   Why is it so many can like Logmein.com but Dameware is still left outside looking in?

How is Dameware traffic and session secured?

Looks nifty...

Dameware is actually using two layers of encryption, such that it uses RSA encryption similar to direct intranet connections, which is enwrapped into another layer of SSL encryption. Moreover agents and proxy are using certificates to ensure identity on both sides. If you are interested in more details let me know and we can take this offline with engineering and do a deep dive.

I made a document with a way to do this. If you want Dame ware to function exactly like log me in and you have central server installed. And a configured Internet proxy. This will work great.Self Contained Web Script to Connect a Client to Your Remote Session ID With Ease of Use

This is one SW product I kinda wish we had but don't... we're using a couple competing products.

DameWare never worked out for me so I couldnt keep a steady connection so I was forced to switch to TeamViewer.

I agree. I hate the current product that we have.
