Live! Office Hours in March.. and a Question

If you haven’t heard already, SolarWinds’ Head Geeks are available for daily live chat, Monday-Thursday for the month of March at 1:00PM CT.  kong.yang, adatole, sqlrockstar and yes me too, will be online to help answer any questions you may have about products, best practices, or general IT.  Though unlikely, some chump stumpage may occur, so we’ll also have experts from support and dev to make sure we have the best answer for anything you can throw at us.  You’ll find us here http://thwack.com/officehours on the Office Hours event page in thwack.

My Question

Daily Office Hours is part of a thwack & Head Geek experiment to test new ways for the community to reach product experts.   I’m also testing a new tag line for our fortnightly web TV show, SolarWinds Lab http://lab.solarwinds.com, and would love your feedback before I rebuild the show header graphic.

What do you think of: What Will You Solve Next?Tm

It means something specific to me, but I’d love to get your feedback before I say what I think it means.  Please leave some comments below.  Do you like it?  Is it the kind of thing we ask each other on thwack?  Is it something SolarWinds does/should ask?  Am I taking liberties with the tm?  After you all chime in and let me know what you think, I’ll reply with what I think it means.

Thanks as always, we hope to see you in March for Office Hours!

  • Since Solarwinds should help you be proactive.  Then that slogan brings it to the foreground.  I say go with it!!!!!

  • Love this line mikegrocket‌.  Folks will probably get tired of me repeating myself, but I will hire for curiosity and drive to root out and fix problems any day of the week.  Mindful curiosity ought to be the superpower of every enterprise monitoring engineer emoticons_happy.png

  • I like it very much. This ideal should become our industry paradigm. Adopting this attitude certainly wouldn't hurt you professionally. Always looking for what you can solve next demonstrates proactive, positive, professional, can do, and whatever other adjective you can think off. I think SolarWinds is a valuable tool assisting us to achieve performance we couldn't otherwise. Looking forward to more.

  • I think it is appropriate as I describe SolarWinds products as giving us an edge up on technology. We are woefully understaffed for the amount of technology required for the business. At my other jobs with this much technology in place we had four times as many people. Crazy I know. What SolarWinds does in my mind is provide the "expert system" that allows a knowledgeable staff to solve problems faster. It also lets us know right out of the box what types of things to watch for in our systems. It helps a Jack of All Trades become a Master of a few things at least. So yes What Will You Solve Next? is an excellent tag line, header, etc.

  • Office hours? Sweet! I'm back in College or maybe not so sweet...emoticons_mischief.png

    "What Will You Solve Next?Tm"

This resonates with me. To me, I feel its good to constantly question the status quo; and actively be pursuing to perfect your situation whether that be in your relationships, personal life (which I often forget I have), and of course network monitoring (or whatever everyone else does for living) - even though the perception of "perfection" may be different to different people - the pursuit - the journey - the trying to solve - is often more important because it can expose that "What" as other possibilities or lines of inquiry yourself or others hadn't considered. Can't wait to see more. emoticons_happy.png
