Different way into Historical Charts

The Historical Charts are extremely helpful for seeing trends of a particular SQL statement.  I wish I could go to a Historical Charts page (maybe just an option in Reports) where I could specify a SQL statement I want to see the Historical Chart for.  Currently you have to get the SQL to appear on the Trend screens by drilling down to the right spot before you can select it from the View Historical Chart dropdown... sometimes the SQL you are interested in is hard to find this way.

  • Hi Kathy -

This is exactly what I was looking for.. just wouldn't have guessed it by the name of the report.  Thank you very much!

Hi Craig.  Good to see you on thwack!

We do have a report you can run for a sql statement that is almost the identical to historical reports.

If you go into Reports,Select your Instance, Select the Report Type 'Average Wait for Single Sql'  then select the sql statement you want to see (from here you can display or go into advanced Options to select a date range.

Let me know if this is what you were looking for.
