Create Reports for Resource Metrics

Create Reports for Resource Metrics

I have several custom resource metrics that have been created to act as KPIs. They can all be viewed in the Resources page, but there is no way to report them other than perhaps a screenshot. If it were possible to create reports of resource metrics, then that would open up so much functionality. All of this data resides somewhere in the DPA repository database, I just need to be able to throw it up in report to show progress over the last year(s). So even just a line graph of the data, or even just the ability to export the collected data for a time series would be invaluable.

!The ability to report over this is an invaluable feature.  Please consider this request.

I added my vote for this request. I was trying to do this exact thing today.

This is especially helpful for presenting justification for increasing the RAM or processor cores allocated to an instance, or initial evidence that there may be a performance issue in the I/O subsystem. In fact, having some built-in reports for those issues as samples either included in the product or available on Thwack (Database Performance Analyzer) would be very useful.

So it's been almost a year since this was requested, with just 30 votes what are the chances we'll have this in 2017 still?

Hendrilk, adding metric to reports is on our What We Are Working On for DPA (Updated April 7, 2017)

Unfortunately, we can't share specific releases or dates, but we have it as a high priority.

Reporting is a very important component to our monitoring procedures.  One example is a monthly chart we create that shows key metrics by Application, including but not limited to Average Transactions per second, Average CPU, Average Reads/Writes per second, and Total Wait Time.  Individually, these stats may not tell the whole picture, but combined, I can get a sense for some trends or possible trouble spots.  Currently, we extract this data from the Solarwinds database and plot them on an Excel graph.  I am not aware of any reports capable of doing this.

Upvoted!  This would be very helpful. It's a shame to have the info available in DPA and have to do screenprints to create reports for management.

Frequently being asked to share Resource Utilization stats, but cannot email these via any automated report (as of 12.1 even).  Pulling hand-crafted raw data from the dpa_repository for 30 servers is no fun!

Please, add configurable RESOURCE reporting ASAP, to include the ability to Show/Hide Baseline.  Simply adding these to the existing set that we can schedule and distribute would be a very helpful first step.

With thanks.

That's exactly what I do for my quarterly reports.
