change name of server in alert messages

actually i need to change the link that is embedded within the message that is sent.

below is an example:

Alert: Total Blocking Wait Time

Database Instance: SMCS-RSQLDW

View Alert Status: http://OURDATACENTRE-DPA01:8123/iwc/alertMain.iwc

Total Blocking Wait Time

Value: 671 seconds

What I am looking for info that will allow me to change the link:

http://OURDATACENTRE-DPA01:8123/iwc/alertMain.iwc

into something like this:

http://lovelydpa:8123/iwc/alertMain.iwc

effectively exchanging the 'intelligent' network name for a 'human' DNS alias.

the DNS alias lovelydpa is still pointing to the same server OURDATACENTRE-DPA01

however, it is far easier to remember and internally disseminate.

I hope this example clarifies my question.

I have looked into the config file but nothing seemed relevant.

Here is a KB that I think will help SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: DPA Email Overrides .

"To Override Email Settings

Edit the following file on the Ignite server machine, then uncomment and set the appropriate property:

/iwc/tomcat/ignite_config/idc/system.properties"

You are looking to change this property.

com.confio.iwc.emailLinks.hostOverride=

I don't yet know if it is possible but I am checking on it...
