What we are working on now

Has 9.0 been released?

It has!  You can download it from your customer portal or a trial from solarwinds.com.

Interesting.  Our downloads section is only showing 9.0 for DPA - SQL Server 9.0.146 with a link to the actual 9.0 download.

The DPA 9.0 links for DB2, Oracle and Sybase all take you to the 8.3.407 download.

Use the download from the SQL Server link then - they are all the same bits.  We'll let the appropriate authorities know about the links pointing to the previous bits.  8 )

Thanks -  Will do.

Begs the question though - If they are all the same, why not just have a single link to DPA 9.0? KISS principle and all that

Preaching to the choir.  Has something to do with how things are tracked from an accounting standpoint per my understanding (think SKUs).  They *should* all be in sync though.

Hi Kathy,

What happened to EBS modules the ignite8 had, I don't see visible in DPA. I see no reason to upgrade without this feature.

Hi Joe,

This list above is just for the what we are working.  EBS support is still in Ignite/DPA.  You have to either turn it on when registering an instance or turn it on for an instance in the advanced options (search for ORACLE_ERP)

Hi Kathleen, can we have any information about when the new version is planned to go out ?

Hi Kathleen,

Does your not answering mean that we cannot have any information about when the new version is planned to go out ?

About the Tomcat version that will be used, still no information either ?

Thanks in anticipation for your answer.

Hi Christine.

I can give you some more information.  I notice you are a customer of Database Performance Analyzer on thwack.  I will take this offline and contact you.

Hi Kathleen, I'd be interested in having the ability to drill down by database, machine, user across a time period instead of within a time period. For instance, seeing only the performance information for a single database, user, machine over a day, hour, etc.  In the current setup, it's challenging to try to determine the differences in performance over a specific time frame for these items since the charts get skewed by all of the other items in the list. Let me know your thoughts or if I should provide further clarification.

Hi layfnatu2,

We'd be happy to discuss any questions you have or the capabilities of DPA.  Please reach out to us at support@confio.com.

Hi

I added this as a feature request that other users can vote on.

Thanks for the feedback!!

The current version is relying on Tomcat 6, which has a number of vulnerabilities.

Will the next version rely on a newer, more secure version of Tomcat ?

Same question about Apache and JQuery.

Hi,

We are expecting to add newer versions of tomcat to the latest release.  More information to come on this, stay tuned

An operational dashboard for AlwaysOn Availability Groups. We use the dashboards within SSMS however it would be nice to see this information available within Ignite/DBA as well.
