How do i setup alerts to send clear messages once an issue has been fixed?

Hi,

I am familiar with setting up Alerts in DPA. However, i was looking to get clear alerts sent out once a alert has been fixed.

For example, I have a custom alert which notifies if there are databases that havnt been backed up in 1 day and checked for this condition every 15 minutes. Once i have been alerted of an issue, and i fix it, i would like to get a clear on the next time it polls?

is this possible?

mos, That's a great question. I see the value of your idea very clearly. I don't have an answer just yet but I'm checking on this now.

Hi Brian,
Oracle Enterprise Manager does something very similar and useful whereby you can set the threshold for a clear message. Its very important to have this, especially for on call staff - we always expect a clear with every critical alert.

The feature request has not made it into the product at this point. It has some votes, but certainly not at the top of the list (top billing requests are much more likely to get actioned).
What version of DPA are you at? There may be a way to accomplish this using DPAIM (the Orion integration module)...
