How can I force DPA to use SQL Server Native Client 2012 or above?

How can I force DPA to use SQL Server Native Client 2012 or above for it's performance monitoring threads used to connect to SQL Server database servers? It appears in our environment SQL server native client 2000 is being used and we'd like to use a more current client in our environment.

Currently, we use an open source jTDS driver. This is a limitation on how SQL Server queries the protocol version. We are using the latest jTDS driver with some of our own contributions. Don't believe everything you see. 8 )
