Fellow Thackers,
I have a small dilemma, at my company unmanaged nodes without a proper cause and expected up time, is a no no. Our server team in attenpts to reduce cost, have been powering down Amazon devices and spining them back up when they are needed. Has anyone come a cross a way to show these devices as "shut down" vs the regular node down? The team has been unmanaging them in order to avoid escalation on a device that really isn't a concern.
Any thought or best practices? I've considered just removing them from Solarwinds all together, and re-adding them when needed. Not sure that the best answer.
