We call them Technology Briefings or Tech Days, and the SolarWinds Government and Education team has held them for many years. They originated in 2014 as physical events in the San Antonio area, where we have a good number of military customers. We’d send our senior sales engineers from Austin to spend the day with customers who wanted to learn more about using our products.
Tech Days review our network, systems, and security products, and the events are comprised entirely of product demonstrations, customer use cases, and technical discussions. Over the last six years, we’ve held over 75 physical events at dozens of locations across the continental U.S., Hawaii, the United Kingdom, and Germany, bringing in nearly 4,000 registrations and 2,000 attendees, with many customers returning for multiple events to learn about the latest features.
We completed our first virtual Tech Day event in January 2020, which was well received, and gave government and education customers from across the country the opportunity to attend the event. As virtual is now the new normal, we’re offering virtual Tech Day events to all our customers.

Wrap-Up and Additional Questions
Each session block starts with quick overviews in case there are beginners, but quickly jump into the higher-level features to help our customers get the most out of our products and tools. There’s a lot to cover, but the sessions are interactive, so customers can get answers to their questions. We also try to showcase new features, so everyone upgrades and understands how to use them.
One of the benefits of attending a Tech Day is engaging with other customers who have similar problems or the same questions you do. It’s great to see customers sharing feedback, getting advice from technical experts, and learning from each other.
Don’t take my word for it! Here are some anonymous testimonials from some recent government and education Tech Day events:
