THWACK Monthly Mission - September 2020

There are many types of stacks. Stacks of paperwork (I know you know), stacks of laundry (you know I know), and software stacks (you know I know you know), and for some reason, whatever we’re looking for isn’t at the top, isn’t at the bottom, it’s hidden somewhere in the middle. It’s protected on all sides by layers of complexity, only visible to the trained eye (like my mom… how does she always know where everything is?).

Well, you’ve been training for this mission. You’ve been honing your sight and stretching your perception and now—NOW—you’re ready to unpack the stack. You’ll dig for truths, unearth intricacies, finally put away the last hamper worth of clothes to find your favorite pair of jeans that you just KNOW you ran through the laundry.

Find what you’re looking for this month and expand your view of application dependencies.

SEPTEMBER MISSION

Use the mission’s resources to complete the tasks and answer the questions for a chance to win!

Correctly answer each question during the week and you'll be entered for a chance to win the weekly prize.

Correctly answer all 20 questions over the course of the month and you'll be entered for a chance to win the grand prize.

150 points are being awarded for each correctly answered question. There are 20 questions, which means you can earn a maximum of 3,000 points for this mission.

WTF, I think the form is borking very much too.

I selected only 1 option, then I got bzzt, it doesn't support this nor this out of the box...

I'm 100% sure I didn't select either of them so seems that the whole question/answer is broken.

I also had a "neither of these options are supported out of the box" wrong answer without selecting either of them.  Though re-re-re-reading the hint and possible answers shows where I went wrong.  Must remember to have more coffee before attempting these!

I've finally managed to get back to these missions!

My issue was with the shortcut. I attempted to submit a screenshot of my registration which failed. Now when I try to click to submit it says that I already have?

Typically the one day I don't check the comments before attempting an answer ends in a erroneous red X for selecting the correct answer.  Nevermind, at least it's a red X I don't need to blame on a lack of coffee!

Well, After looking at the hint.  I choose wisely.  but the logic is flawed and imperfect.  Data would never make this mistake.

All you people posting today's correct answer in your comments without using the spoiler tag (Is there a spoiler tag?) are kind of ruining the fun of getting the answer correct for the rest of us. I check the comments daily to see if there is an issue with the question, not to just be given the answer.

Now this is what I like to see from our missions! Informative, and encompassing different modules. Reminding me that SCM supports the tracking of database changes could be valuable for my current client, so there may even be a sale off the back of this too 🙂
