Dang it. Careful wasn’t the obvious answer. Never know with these you want the British or American spelling. Capital letters, lower case, correct spelling.

but probably should of had a coffee first!

Level 9

Mmmm, too late for me. Failed.

This month looks like a good one - Looking forward to it already!

Level 13

First time I'm out of the running on day 1.  I'm wondering if this one is currently sensitive to capitalization.  I answered with a capital.

Level 9

Surely and oddly enough, it IS case sensitive.

Community Manager
Community Manager

That is odd. I've done a bit of a workaround to include every possible format of the correct answer (upper-case, lower-case, singular, plural, etc.). Please try again and if you're still having trouble send me a message. Here is a hint, though: it is formatted exactly as you'll see in the hint link.

Level 14

Worked fine for me (if that helps diagnose the issue).

Level 8

Swing and a miss.  Big red X with question one.

The first week's prize--somehow I saw "Ankle Portable Charger" and envisioned "house arrest" ankle bracelets.  Ufda!

Level 10

Awesome prizes this month. Lets do this!

Level 11

Well you're not alone

Level 12

Worked fine for me with first letter capitalized

TIP:

  1. store answer in lower or capital letter ONLY
  2. convert answer provided by the user to selected format, for example, ToLower() or TopUpper()
  3. perform comparizon or comparison, or just compare the two
Level 17

Did I hear, Test Drive Dark Theme?!?

Level 11

For Monday's question, being American I was off, I see only a single 5 letter word appearing in any context that equates to the clue text and certainly not the entirety of the clue text in the hint in any way.

I'm just not going to play until someone else confirms or denies my observations as I've been burned by trickery and feints one too many times, especially in something so wide open as a fill in the blank.

Level 14

ok for me with all lowercase

All lower case worked fine here for me this morning.  There are several potential answers, but the one I selected fit the hint perfectly, even though it was't the answer I expected.  It is not capitalized in any way in the actual hint page.

Those of us who get every question right:

Level 12

DanielleH Q.3 hint has a problem at the moment:

Server Error in '/ui' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An exception occurred while processing your request. Additionally, another exception occurred while executing the custom error page for the first exception. The request has been terminated.

It seems there's a superfluous space at the end of the URL. This http://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/ui/orionlog/logviewer/  might work.

mark.healey thank you for the hint link update - works a treat

Level 11

Nice catch.  FYI SolarWinds marketing folks, you should update the product page.  It says:

Level 14

spot on. thanks

Level 12

Technically that's true, it does not support Windows Event Logs natively. As a workaround using Log Forwarder you simply forward Windows Event Logs as Syslog messages.

A little transparency, here: I have a family member who had to wear one of those devices and it was no fun.  They couldn't get it wet so had to keep the ankletted (is that a word? oh, well...made it up if not) leg outside the shower.  It was miserable for them.  But, on the flip side, I suppose if one does something that warrants the wearing of such a device, one kinda gets what one deserves.  Fortunately, they have turned things around so no more having to worry about "house arrest".

And, rschroeder, don't you get me started with the "ya, shewr, yew betcha"s! 😉  Cheers!

Are you familiar with Steve Harvey's stand-up comedy about a wedding that includes an ankle bracelet?  Yikes!

Level 12

For solarwinds DoD customers:

Level 13

Thanks!

"Ghetto Wedding"  Just listened...OMG! Hilarious!  I'm sure that was one of those "truth is funnier than fiction" moments.  I'm not a huge Steve Harvey fan but that was some good material.

I'm glad you enjoyed it.  It's NSFW, in my book, but I can imagine the wedding.

Level 12

Looks like another good mission! Really like the options for the windows events.

Agreed...a little crass in spots. Too much this @$$ and that @$$.  But, hey, that's Steve Harvey.  If you don't like it, you don't have to listen to him.  I'm surprised that he doesn't get more "bleeps" on Feud but I guess he has learned (or been forced) to tone it down on TV.

Level 9

I don't know what other spelling for the word there is... I sat here contemplating the answer for too long. In the end it's exactly what you see on the hint page, can't miss it.

Level 11

Alright a fun monthly mission!!!!!!! Now just to go green the whole month.

Level 10

DanielleH

Something is wrong about today's question.

No options seems right and when I tried selecting an option which was near to correct.....

Bang!!!!!! INCORRECT......

Level 9

I'm also wondering what the "correct" answer is supposed to be.

Level 9

Think I agree. I say 'think' because it's always possible I answered too quickly, but either way, those who follow should take care with this one.

Level 9

I have read the answers to todays question really carefully, and I agree with you that none of the answers are "exactly" correct. I think I will leave answering this one till a bit later......

Level 9

Well that one was odd.  Didn't immediately see any of the options in the list (assuming the vendors list was the right place to check in the first instance), but saw a sneaky "more" option that did contain one of the possible answers.  Only that wasn't it either.  Sadface.

Level 10

MMMM... Will wait and see

Level 12

Hi DanielleH,

I have selected the nearest option, which was the best match, but it has shown as Wrong. Please check from your end, correct the answer and/or consider the answer as correct or reset the question. Thank you.

Level 9

Is there an error with today's question? None of them seem correct so I guessed and.....predictably.....got it wrong.

Level 12

On today's question... The first impression is never good... I got it wrong, all right, but hopefully, nobody after me will

Level 12

Nope, it's perfectly fine, we are just not smart enough...

Level 12

I'm afraid you have done the same as me and selected SRX100

Level 14

Today 7th does seem like either something is wrong or I'm missing the obvious.  As I don't know the product but was very interested in getting it I was hoping for something more user friendly (if I'm missing something).  As far as I can see the correct answer is "None of the above".

Level 12

I'm afraid DanielleH will disagree with most of us, claiming there was no correct answer, and she will be right. The answer was there, in front of us, though there is a small typo in the suggested, allegedly correct, answer, thus we may claim incorrectness on this ground

Level 12

Welcome to the club...

Level 14

Sorry but I couldn't disagree with you more.  If the "correct" answer has a typo then it is incorrect.  How are we to know it isn't a trick to catch out the unwary (as has happened so many times in the past).  If you want to take that route then there are 3 answers which could be correct if you allow for a single character typo.
