Got the same issue re: WPM... 😞

Level 9

@yumdarling As the others, looking for  question clarifying, a good explanation or a reset!!!

Level 9

I should have read the comments first before answering today

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, y'all. I reached out to the product owners to get an answer regarding what PerfStack does and does not show on its dashboard.

Once I have that answer, I will make a decision regarding resetting the question.

If you have a specific case you want me to look at, feel free to shoot me a DM.

Thanks!

Yum

Level 9

Need a recount on today's question.  Gave the exact answer it said I missed, lol

Level 9

I saw the banner, but the read carefully made me go through the list. I thought it was a trick question, I just picked in the wrong direction. The banner was not careful reading, reading the details was... or so I thought.

Hopefully there is a reset, but better luck to those who checked the comments first.

Level 13

There is a problem with today's question.  Exactly the same problem i had with the question on March 18.

I have a screen shot of the message that notes the answers after marking me wrong, and a screenshot showing I picked those exact answers.

Just to clarify while we're waiting to hear on specifics - the answer we're looking for are the products that DO show up on the dashboard, not the ones that are excluded.

So if you see that excluded list, choose all but those products on that list.

kthanksbye

Level 10

@yumdarling If that's the case, the wording needs to be reconsidered. Reading the last sentence through me off completely. I went back and re-read it three times before I saw the REAL question.

Question in question.jpg

Level 14

Yep, that does seem to be contrary to whay Yum is saying.  I'm not sure we should be penalised for not answering a different question to the one asked.

Community Manager
Community Manager

I understand your frustration. The link was trying to help you, I'm sure. I've bolded the actual question, so it's clearer what the question is asking and what the hint is offering.

Level 14

That's an extremely poorly worded question.  If you were trying to trick someone you couldn't have done a better job.  You should be  ashamed.       😡

Level 10

So will the question be reset?

MVP
MVP

Well .. this is special!  ... so ... does WPM display ?

Level 8

Chiming in, that I also was answering the question to "Note which products are excluded from PerfStack dashboard" which seems more like a question rather than the hint. Throw the question out for any who got it wrong?

Level 10

So does "can consolidated" mean "can correlate"?

Level 8

The question as worded is fine, it specifically says excluded, however, WPM was listed in the "correct" answer, when in fact that does not match the documentation in the link. Both can't be true and that needs to be fixed.

Level 10

@yumdarling I thought I understood what you meant when you highlighted that section, but with the documentation wrong, showing both ways as the right answer, I got it wrong. I respectfully request a reset on this question. It is very confusing to have documentation say two different things. I spent a lot of time reading it one way and then the other. I even found this link: https://www.solarwinds.com/perfstack

Thank you for your consideration on this.

Level 14

I picked the correct three today, and I received an incorrect answer.

Level 10

I got the answer correct - but I do admit it took a bit to read (and re-read) the question correctly to understand how to correctly answer.

Level 10

So if todays question is asking us to identify which products can correlate data, it needs to be reset. This is verbatim from the clue:

Correlate data from the following SolarWinds products:

  • NPM 12.1 or later
  • SAM 6.4 or later
  • VMAN 7.1 or later
  • NTA 4.2.2 or later
  • SRM 6.4 or later
  • WPM 2.2.1 or later
  • EOC 2.0 or later
  • NCM 7.7 or later (Configuration changes)
  • VNQM 4.4.1 or later (IPSLA operations)
  • DPAIM 11.1 or later (DPA integrated with the Orion Platform)

But earlier it also states this:

This topic applies to all Orion Platform products except for the following products:

ETS  IPAM  UDT  WPM

@yumdarling This is why people are upset. WPM is stated to not apply, and apply.

Level 9

WPM is found in PerfStack, just an FYI. @yumdarling

xaturbatu_0-1585294120489.png

Level 8

I also selected the correct answers for yesterdays questions and received a beautiful red X.....

Level 9

Just jumping in the "need a reset" pond so I don't get left out ... literally my only red x this month. @yumdarling

Level 9

I should have read the comments about WPM as i too ticked that box after reading the documentation 😞

Level 9

Great, All Green !

Level 10

Where are the surveys located?

Level 9

@userunnown the link is hidden in the question text - unfortunately it appears the page styling doesn't show the underline underneath hyperlinks.

Level 8

I made the same assumption with WPM when I saw it in the products list.... got the red "X" (first one this year) and then I found this after searching again...

This topic applies to all Orion Platform products except for the following products:

ETS  IPAM  UDT  WPM

Ugh... a reset would be nice but it is what it is!

Level 13

I'm still waiting to answer yesterday's question since there still doesn't seem to be an answer one way or another on what the question is asking. Has it been corrected yet or should I keep waiting?

Level 9

I take issue with having gotten this question wrong. The question clearly asks which products are EXCLUDED. The clue clearly states this applies to all products EXCEPT the ones I selected as my answer.

March 27 Question.JPG

Level 14

The worrying thing is I could have made a purchasing decision based on this incorrect information.  We have just spent a fortune on several Solarwinds products and this wasn't but could have been the deciding factor of whether we went with Solarwinds or another vendor.  The response has been very underwhelming and is leaving me feeling like they don't really care.  I'm really quite angry about this (I know there are more important things to worry about but hey ho).

Level 9

I don't think the question has anything wrong per-se, it's the product data aka the answer that was incorrect. So there shouldn't be any question about resetting this question and to fix the data page right away.

Level 9

Same issue with me - selected WPM as part of the answer, since it was shown as included in the hint link.....first red X of the month.....

Level 11

@jnewell

you had me at taco 😛

@rbeachy   I feel your pain.  I was fooled, as were many by that line you pointed out that said to "note which products are excluded."

That was confusing in that it simply asked us to "note" these particular products.  It didn't say to select them, simply note them.  It would have been helpful if it had said "note which products are excluded so you WON'T pick them".

The kicker is that the line right above that "note which products" line is what tells us what we're supposed to do.  It asks us to select which Orion Platform products and integrations can be consolidated onto a common timeline.

The problem for most of us was when that last line was added--apparently just to help us out.  Instead, it should have added that it's showing which ones must be EXCLUDED.    I read the complaints about this question several times, and agreed with all of them when I'd quickly read the setup.  I naturally focused on the last line, as did many.

But when I went back and re-read every line slowly, I realized the requested goal was to show which ones are included, and we could simply note the excluded ones so we wouldn't use them in our answer.

I don't think there was any intent to fools anyone.  It's mostly like that the misleading line was added to try to help us.  Sadly it did the opposite.

Oh well.  There's always next month.  I'll read more slowly and try to get around any "helpful" statements that could end up doing the opposite of their intent.

Level 11

My single worst month ever and I attribute it to poorly worded questions and gotcha tactics with products listed as both works with and doesn't work with on the same page.

I'm done. No more missions for me. My time is better spent doing nothing.

Ok friends!

I haven't heard back and we're running out of time - SO I reset question #19 for anyone who got it incorrect. For those of you who got it right the first time, no action required from you.

Have a lovely Friday.

Also - i changed the answers to reflect the information y'all so kindly gave me in these comments regarding WPM 🙂

Level 14

So is WPM included or excluded.  The hint still says both and I've had a really tough day.

Level 9

Thanks for the reset, @yumdarling ....unfortunately, I still got the question wrong as the response told me I picked IPAM and UDT when I hadn't selected them.....

Level 20

I had the same thing happen said I got them wrong from items I didn't pick!

Level 20

I just got it wrong for the same reason... I've been busy this week!

Level 11

Same here, it told me that I got it wrong and selected answers that I did not select

MVP
MVP

same here.

Level 10

Thursday. Uggg. I am so confused about it now.

Level 9

I think March 26th question may still be broken. I missed on the WPM as well ...for some reason I wasn't seeing newer comments until I commented(bug maybe?!) @yumdarling kindly requesting a reset. Thanks for all you do!

Level 10

I can confirm question 19 is now fixed.  Red X yesterday, green check today.

Thanks @yumdarling  !!!

DM me if you wanna talk about another reset, friends.

I'm happy to provide.

According to our users and commenters WPM does show up on PerfStack.

This question is asking you to select the options that ARE INCLUDED. There should only be 2 that are excluded

Hope that makes it clear.

Yum
