THWACK Monthly Mission - December 2017

I was doing some routine monitoring when I saw... I saw systems in the cloud! Before I could drill down and get a closer look, the administrator issued an alert that the evil Empire of End-Users was threatening the health of the whole system.

THWACKsters, we have no choice but to go on an emergency mission to rescue as many applications, servers, and VMs that we can. We’ll take our upgraded ship, the SolarWindsRegistered S.A.M., that will allow us to have visibility across cloud environments, so we won’t be flying blind.

I am no SysAdmin, but I know IT. It moves through and surrounds every living thing. Close your eyes... feel it... the light... IT has always been there... IT will guide you.

It’s THE LAST MISSION of the year. Use your new abilities and battle beyond your data center!

Parents
  • I may be missing something, but the MAX average is not the "Min/Max Receive B/s" .  "Min/Max Receive B/s"  is the "high watermark" utilization, which is not the average.  For example downloading a file at 100MB/s for 5 minutes, and not doing anything for the next 5 minutes (0MB/s) will yield a graph that shows 50MB/s average and 100MB/s as Max (which is not average) for that 10 minute utilization.  Only reason i got the answer "right" is i deducted all the bad answers from the comments...

On the other side, I do feel that it is hard to come up with all these questions and answers(day in day out), so if occasionally we have a confusing question, it's ok.  I appreciate all the effort that goes into these monthly missions.  They do a good job "tricking" me into to learn about all their products emoticons_happy.png

    Thank you!
