Level 15

There are few certainties in this life: death, taxes, and security audits. There’s a good chance that at some point in your career, you’ll have to face the dreaded auditor. Our goal with this month’s mission is to quiz your compliance knowledge so you can ask yourself if you have the expertise to survive an audit. Each week will highlight a different aspect of compliance as follows:

  • Week 1: Understanding Compliance
  • Week 2: The Industry Perspective
  • Week 3: Risks to Compliance and Risks of Non-compliance
  • Week 4: Tools for Compliance in IT

Audits shouldn’t feel like IT Pro Vs. Auditor, SolarWinds is here to help.

Use the mission’s resources to complete the tasks and answer the questions for a chance to win!

  • Correctly answer each question during the week and you'll be entered for a chance to win the weekly prize
  • Correctly answer all 20 questions over the course of the month and you'll be entered for a chance to win the grand prize: 32" Samsung® curved computer monitor

A new question will open every day (Monday - Friday) starting on May 1, 2017.

Check the schedule below for exact open/close times.

Correctly answer all five questions within a given week and you’ll be entered to win the weekly prize:

Perfect mission...PCI DSS auditors coming soon.....

Wow day one and it was already a tough question.   Going to be a good month.

I didn't get the exact answer out of the video, but that may have been because I was multitasking and missed something.  So, I just looked at the answers, figured out which was "different", crossed my fingers, and hit submit.  Worked out this time.

Level 14

The dreaded auditor.... yup... something I am really familiar with!

Looks like another great mission!

Level 10

Love all the prizes, as well as the theme.

Yea... home run on the prize selection this month.

Level 10

Horrible video -- same boat.

Level 9

could barely hear the video and couldn't fully make out what they were saying...failed too

Strange--the video was perfect for me.  The available answers also are subject to intuitive logic--I heard the info in the video, then stopped & thought about the four answers and asked myself "which one of these CAN'T be true?"  It was obvious to me . . .

The question, to me, seemed to ask "Which of the answers below can't come from compliance with regulatory designs?"

Answers choices were:

  • Impenetrable security
  • Improved incident response
  • Reduced Risk
  • Lower cyber-insurance cost

One of those choices is impossible to achieve . . .  That was the answer I picked based on the video & common sense.  And it was correct!

Trust your common sense.

Level 9

I didn't think the video was bad at all - a helpful tip for today's may or may not be useful to read the bullets in the video and listen to him describe all the bullets at 11:48.

Level 12

Didn't watch the video (never do).  One of the options is, as has been stated, impossible, so I chose that one and got the good color.

Level 9

Agreed, terrible recording and I also got it wrong since I never heard that question or any of those answers in that video.

Level 7

Starting off this month with a give me question.  Sweet!!!

Level 11

english is not my native langage, this kind of questions is pretty difficult to understand for me

So I followed rschroeder's advice >>>

I think today's hint would have been a good source for yesterdays question. I had to guess at the question yesterday because I could not find or hear the answer.

I like the little extra information after you answer the question today, that's nice.   I am usually so worried that i get the answer right i don't always read what comes after congratulations.   But today i did and really nice value add.   Thanks team.

Level 9

Same - I really liked having that extra info at the "Congrats" screen.

Level 20

Level 9

Great question, easily found answer, added beneficial supplemental information after answer.  The person/team in charge of this month's mission deserves a raise!

Level 9

At the beginning of the video, it clearly stated that Compliance does not equal security.

Level 9

Well said.  Compliance does not equal security.

Level 14

Absolutely right.

Level 14

Couldn't agree more.

Level 15

I appreciate the feedback!

Level 15

Props to joshberman

Level 11

Level 9

Hold on.  There is a Thwack Hammock?  When will that be available for points purchase in the Thwack store?  That would be an awesome item.

Level 20

Hopefully some cool new stuff in the thwack store... I'm actually glad they removed the game table because I read some things about how hard it is to assemble and stuff so it's a good move.

Level 15

Coming soon

How soon, and is that Hammock in there?   I have been saving my points for the big ticket item, I had enough for the game table them poof it was pulled away from my warm keyboard curved hands.   I need more Stuff.   I want the fridge too but its so many points and the Corn-hole game..   Please I implore you, before i waste my points on a lesser item...

may have to order the hammock and the fridge...

Level 13

i don't see a hammock...

According to wabbott above there is one coming soon....

in the mean time, working on shoring up cubicle walls to support said hammock....

Level 9

Today's answer is ALL about the question itself.

Have a great day.

Excellent topic for this month, just hoping I have enough points for the hammock

Level 7

I see what you did there.

Level 20

I can just see that... a collapsing wall because of your hammock in the office lololol!  Would be nice for taking naps at work though!

Level 11

OK what is the thwack hammock? I can't find it anywhere and very intrigued.

wait for it....

Level 10

I didn't even have the audio on, and got the answer from what was on the screen.

Level 10

I marked your answer as helpful.  Who knows how many lives you'll save???

Level 10

Level 10

Loving the little bits of info on the "CORRECT" screen.  Have these always been here, and I just missed them?  Lots of great tidbits.

I'm pretty sure accurate identification of the reptile dragging you underwater won't be all that useful for survival . . .    But it IS fun & silly!

Level 10

Level 11

Thanks! That's just something I threw in there to provide more context. Glad you like em'!

Level 9

Is it me or does the formatting look wrong for today's question, specifically the answers to choose from?

Level 10

If the same impression that there is something wrong here.
