SolarWinds Customer Conference 2015 - When can you travel?

Community Manager

We are nearing a decision regarding our first "SolarWinds User University" for 2015 and we need some additional advice. In thinking about your day, we are worried about taking time away from the normal work day given your need to keep the IT systems alive and deal with help desk issues. Please take our survey to let us know what travel times are convenient for you.  250 thwack points will be awarded to respondents when the survey closes.

Thank you for the feedback, as always!

The first option is best for me.

The 2nd option is fine as I will be resting after the conference

Is this still in the pipeline for 2015?

What is the status of this event?

DanielleH is this event still happening? Most of us are probably making plans for 2015 events and will need to know if we should be planning on this event. Thanks!

I'll be in Vegas all year so any day is good for me.

I second this sentiment.  Many of us will be setting our training goals for the year as well and early 2015 is a great time to get a commitment to attend a user conference.

So, what is the deal with this bad boy? Where's the party going to be? When?

When is this going to happen?  We need time to plan a trip and budget for it.

BUMP FOR INFO!!

I feel like I am either looking in the wrong place for this info, or it has been abandoned...

Thank you all for your interest in the SolarWinds Customer Conference. As we continue to explore the best means to add value to the community, the 2015 event has been put on hold until further notice. As an alternative, for example, we may offer a series of virtual events to stay even further connected throughout the year. Please continue to stay tuned.

Oh no... major bummer... We were looking forward to shaking hands and talking to other users face to face... Well, I wasn't looking forward to the shaking hands part, but that is just a personal thing... But my boss and coworker were definitely interested...

Maybe y'all can just bite the bullet and host it locally for the first year, to get it going, then keep planning big for future sessions... 50% live event, 50% virtual event...

If it is a virtual event, then all of your blue pill users will have to be chained to their desks where they work... This could be the only daylight some of us ever get to see... out there, in the real world... don't put our red pills on hold.

On a side note, is there a better place to house this info, or should we continue to look here, at this thread, for future updates?  I thought there was previously something stickied on the home page, but I cannot seem to find it.

Thanks for the info Danielle.  Y'all keep up the good work, and don't forget about us...

wluther you still can! We will be at Microsoft Ignite, Cisco Live, and VMworld this year so come see us if you are attending any of these.  Based on feedback from the last thwackCamp event, we have tossed around the idea of doing smaller user groups where customers can attend our virtual events, but no hard plans that I can confirm yet.  However, I can confirm we are working on some very cool, interactive plans for 2015.  Once things are ready to go, we will be posting here in the Announcements blog so stay tuned.

i suggest you add this as a side event to Cisco live

that why we travel once

maybe hold it on  the sat sun before /after CL

your staff already attend that show

as your in a poll which annual event they attend most

MS, Apple, RSA, EMC, Cisco Juniper or VMWARE

Would it be in bad taste to fill the survey out for just the points? :-)

wluther
Level 16

lcoursy I would imagine their goal is to collect accurate and honest data from all of their surveys... Allowing them to make the right improvements more efficiently.  I would not think they care AS MUCH as to WHY you are filling out the survey, but more so that your responses to the survey reflected your honest answers.

I tend to skip over the surveys that do not apply to me.  There are, however, a ton of other ways to get points. Here is a list.

Garbage In --> Garbage Out...

Sigh, I'll skip it, but 250 points is a lot to me. LOL

Here you go... Join in the conversations each week, and get a 50 point bump the first time you reply to each topic.  That's 100 points per week, easy peasy!!

"Reply to our Ambassador posts (we usually have 2 Ambassadors per week) + earn 1 entry to our Ambassador Monthly Engagement Contest -- Get Nano'd"

"50 or 100 for replying to both Ambassadors"

I wish Solarwinds would do an on-campus event in Austin.  I've been dying to get down there since I started using the product 5+ years ago.  Going to Vegas would be nice, but getting a chance to be in the heart of everything would be amazing.  I think I'd like that more than visiting Redmon or the Googleplex.  (OK, maybe not the Googleplex...but still)

Whatcha think DanielleH?
