SSO THWACK & Customer Portal - Link your accounts!

Huge news! You can now link your THWACK and Customer Portal logins to navigate seamlessly between these two properties.  Additional advantages to linking your accounts include seeing the products you own in your THWACK profile, see your renewal dates, renew licenses, open support tickets, review existing support tickets, and gain more visibility and access to beta's for the products you own.  This is just the first iteration of the SSO deployment so look for more benefits to come!  Huge props to mrs.alterego​ for connecting the dots and making this long-standing feature request happen!

How do I link my THWACK account to my Customer Portal Account or "IUA"?

First you will need to go to your profile page and pull down the menu under “Actions”.

Next, select “Link Customer Portal account” and you will be given a quick synopsis on the benefits to linking your THWACK and Customer Portal accounts.

Finally, you will be asked to enter your Individual User Account credentials, which are your company email address and your chosen password. If you have any settings in THWACK to remember your username and password, please make sure when you are prompted to enter your IUA that you don’t enter your THWACK credentials. You will see below in the example that my IUA is completely different from my THWACK credentials. I am not mrs.alterego on the Customer Portal side of the house.

I saw this when I was signing up my Solarwinds account, very cool to be able to link them. I did it right away.

Done... process was easy and quick!!!!

SO I attempted to do this only to learn that I have forgotten the password for my SWID. So I went tot he Solarwinds page and logged in with an account that I had created under my SWID (we have multiple accounts for the multiple roles designated in the Solarwinds Portal). As I logged in it asked me if I wanted to link my Solarwinds Portal account to my Thwack ID so I did. DO I still get credit?

I previously linked my account, just tried un linking it and linking it back.  Then I saw your note about it being a manual process on your end.   Am I still eligible?  Thanks

It will just be awarded, no action needed if you previously linked your accounts already.

All linked, that is awesome.  I really like the idea of opening support cases from here.

I linked my accounts last week but have not been awarded the points. I'm so close to leveling up, I need every point I can get.

I guess "close" is relative. Level 15 is 75k, not 70k. Not sure if you knew that already or not.

I do know that. I figured with 2K for linking accounts and 3K for the SAM HA Beta test I completed, I'll be ready to join the 75K club.

I linked my accounts on either June 2nd or 3rd but have not yet received the points.

Hi mikegale​ - we deployed the automation for SSO on June 3rd at 10pm, so I believe you just barely missed the cutoff for the automation, which means we will manually be adding those points to your account. I promise it's coming; we won't forget you guys! 🙂

I see the option to Link your Customer Portal account under your profile. Are you sure you don't see this option? Can you send me a screenshot of what you're seeing, if it doesn't look like the below?

Silly question. I linked my accounts. My profile shows that I linked my accounts, but when I look at my Missions it says I am 80% done. What else is there left to do?

Hey tinmann0715​ - I'm not sure why you're linking wasn't fully complete, but I show that you did, indeed, link those two accounts. You should now see the badge and points added to your reputation. Let me know if you have any other issues.

I don't believe that I received the points when I originally linked them, but I honestly can't say. Should I unlink and then re-link the accounts?

Hey wabbott​ - can you take a look at Richard's gamification profile to see if he was given the points for linking his accounts? He may have been part of that group where we had to manually assign points.
