New SolarWinds Customer? Here are some guides to get you started.

Level 14

If you are new to SolarWinds products we've built some handy resources that provide you a quick reference on how to get started. These "New To" resource pages in the Success Center provide quick access to:

  • system requirements
  • installation instructions
  • configuration steps (Getting Started Guides)
  • SolarWinds Academy training

You can find resources for new users here:  New to SolarWinds - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

Sometimes this just needs to be reshared to get folks to look at the basics again.  I know people who aren't interested in reading FAQ's or user guides if they were written for earlier versions of code, even though the interfaces and processes remain the same.  Getting a new list out there might just help someone overcome an issue.

Thanks! I agree. We are continuing to update these guides with new releases and as we learn from our customers on what is working and what is not working.

This is very helpful. Thanks!

Level 15

These are greatly beneficial.  Just bookmarked the page!!!!

It is also worth mentioning that there are some great Solarwinds Infrastructure Monitoring consultants out there in the wild, whose "bread and butter" is getting Solarwinds deployed to more users. These kinds of documents are so valuable when providing customers of Solarwinds stability and training. I now focus on Solarwinds monitoring in the UK and it has been a great experience helping many customers.

As an individual contractor I am able to go into large organisations for a low cost and have a great ripple effect. I know that the changes I make, have a huge impact. Before I specialised in Solarwinds I wasnt as excited about tech and now i'm involved in every aspect of infrastructure from VMWARE, networking, application support and loads more. Thanks for the documentation!

Level 9

It would be great if eLearning is available for prospective client or thwack users as well.

About the Author
Like SolarWinds, I have roots in Oklahoma and have been fond of land grant schools as I went from Oklahoma State University, moving South to Texas A&M University.  Like my college career (accounting, political science, Russian language and then MBA), I have suffered ADD in my professional career moving from finance to strategy to product management and marketing.  I have, however, settled on the broad niche of systems management and have acquired knowledge in this space over the last 11 years. I was very happy to join the SolarWinds team in January 2012 and have been very impressed with the technology.  I look forward to engaging with this community.
