Default alerts that can be triggered by a node.

If you go into Settings > Manage Alerts, you will see the alert management section where you can edit alerts to your heart's content.

What you are probably wanting to do is to change the scope of the Node Down alert to ignore APs.

There is a resource now that you can add to your Node details page called "All Alerts this Object can trigger" that will show you all the alerts that would fire against the node.

And it is these alerts I am unable to manage. If I try to edit them, I am only allowed to create a copy. I cannot find a way to manage the scope of these default alerts.

Maybe try duplicating and editing with the edit excluding your AP's and then disable the default alert.

Log into the Primary poller server at OS level :

If you go into Settings > Manage Advanced Alerts

seek out the alerts you want to update.
