2 part ?: Alert for interface availability/Alert trigger for individual Interface

Good afternoon all! I have a 2 part question I hope someone can answer as I am new to configuring alerts. We were wanting to set up an alert to tell us when a specific interface(s) had an availability of less than say 50%. I enabled the alert for when an interface goes down, but it reports for all interfaces. We only wanted to get alerts from a couple not everything. so here is my questions:1) can you set up an alert based on an interface's availability % and 2) can you have an alert to only be triggered if a specific Interface is having a problem .

1) It depends on what you are defining as 'Availability' (this may sounds like a dumb question, but trust me when I say there are a lot of people who have completely different definitions of what true availability is)
2) ABSOLUTELY! That is easily accomplished by creating a custom property for your interfaces, marking the ones you care about for this alert, and then applying that filter in your alert trigger.
For instance, if you are wanting only an alert on the DOWN instances of your Uplinks, you could setup something similar to this:
I would also HIGHLY recommend a review of the Alert documentation from SolarWinds, it really helped me out when I started.

Thanks zackm for the reply! The definition of availability i am referring to shows up under the network perfomance monitor reports. i am not 100% sure what it gets it graph data, as soon as i get back to work monday i will get you a screenshot of the graph and try the suggested method.

ok I added that custom property and set up the alert. it should be pretty easy to tell if it is not working because when we had all interfaces reporting our inbox got flooded lol. I have attached an image of the interface availability chart I was talking about, maybe someone knows what this chart is based off of...
