Add support for Load Balanced Additional Web Servers via Citrix Netscaler

Feature Request: Add support for Load Balanced Additional Web Servers via Citrix Netscaler

Solarwinds High Availability does not seem to cater for load balancing Solarwinds web traffic. When you outgrow the web site processing capabilities provided (by default) by the Main Poller and decide to implement the Solarwinds "Additional Web Server" option, there is no supported way to utilise a load balancer, such as a Citrix Netscaler to provide HA abilities for the web services.

Is it possible for Solarwinds to implement support for this configuration please?

Here are some THWACK posts where it has been partially done to varying degrees of success using either F5 or Netscaler:

  • This was addressed in Load balancer with multiple AWEs.  You use destination address affinity persistence on the F5 servers which are acting as the front ends of your Additional Web Servers.  Additionally, you can remove the original Orion server from the configuration of said pool so that all of the traffic goes to the Additional Web Servers.
