What percentage of your custom applications are hosted in the cloud?

  • We have custom apps but none are in the cloud, all are on-site.

  • The integrity of our existing platform only recently has made hybrid offerings available to us.  We are looking at modernizing our host services to provide more clear and concise metrics and sustainability.

  • I am all Private Cloud until the vendor figures out how to deliver ... do you want 911 in the Cloud?   Curious as to what "residents" think???

  • I’m still perplexed about the enthusiasm of businesses moving to the cloud. I can understand if you are a small business and it is cost effective to pull specific services from the cloud. On the other hand, if you are a multimillion dollar corporation or the government, why are you not running the other way?

Multiple journals and publications, including the Harvard Business Review, show that large corporations which originally bought into using the cloud are reverting back to on site services because risk assessment shows it’s prudent to bring services and access back into a corporation’s control. From experience, the outages these companies’ received cost them more in sales and other issues than if they chose to host the data themselves. The amount of money or data lost from lack of access to the cloud (internet issues), the increase in data breaches of cloud platforms, and the willingness putting access to your files and information in someone else’s control is horrifying.

Again, I see an appeal for small businesses using the cloud, but giving that much control to someone else seems like a major risk.
