Spam in the forum - Updated advise?

These spam accounts are still rampant.  I report them (which does not work on Firefox btw, I have to open chrome, copy the url over, login to THWACK again, then report) but all these posts and users seems to still be around.  

Might just be better off old school black listing their buzzwords from new activity accounts.

They are.  We've implemented a few new tricks to block them, but as you build a better spam-catcher, they build a better spammer.

I feel you, its an arms race.  Thanks for keeping on it, this is a great little community so many of us are passionate about keeping it healthy (at least that's how I hope most of the feedback comes across )

That's how I read it.  People want to keep things nice.  We don't want to have to go draconian on people when they sign up, but there's probably going to be a few changes coming down the pipe to help stave off the spammers.

I'm sure some of the MVP's would be happy to help if needed. I know I flag a number of posts every day.

I'd be more than happy to utilise a 2FA to access THWACK. Pretty much kills off spambots.

Seconded... most have the option of "don't ask for 14 days" 

We have to aware before doing spam because single spam can affect our traffic
