Not getting hardware health using Dell IDRAC

HI,

I have configured SNMPv3 on the Dell IDRAC version 8 but not getting any hardware health information, We have Solarwinds Application Monitor and seem to get all the hardware Information from our HP Servers but no information from Dell IDRACs.

We had some memory issues on the servers and thought solarwinds server will send an email about the issue but received nothing and saw there was no hardware health information in the Solarwinds server,

I have tried to configure the Universal poller but any of the OID's I used , were coming up with the message as OID not supported,

If any of you guys have configured it, could you please share the information with me.

Kind Regards,

  • Did you ever figure this out? I'm starting to go down this path. We were hoping to be able to monitor hardware health via the iDrac so I don't have to monitor my Windows server with SNMP (which is the only way to get disk information), but I'm running into the same issue. I'm on iDrac 9.

  • Hi Shattori,

No, I still couldn't configure it. I have spoken to dell support as well but nothing concrete came out of this as our Dell servers are actually a vxrail cluster, Dell support recommends to use vxrail manager for the monitoring.

if somehow you come across anything please let me know and I will do the same

    Kind Regards.
