THWACK’s Annual Bracket Battle: Hollywood Bytes is Here
Lights, camera, action! Prepare to embark on an intergalactic cinematic journey as THWACK presents its annual Bracket Battle, a showdown unlike any other.
This year, the spotlight is on science fiction movies. Join us as we delve into the realms of Hollywood's most futuristic masterpieces. Imagine: a cosmic clash where iconic film moments collide, and only one can emerge as the ultimate champion. From timeless classics to cutting-edge blockbusters, our community of tech enthusiasts and cinephiles will duke it out to determine which sci-fi saga reigns supreme.
How It Works
Choose between two tech-tastic films in each round to proclaim which film you think is superior. These 33 movies have been taken from multiple decades to ensure a fair representation of sci-fi cinema as YOU, the community, determine which film is worth purchasing in HD and which one you can be kind/rewind and send back to the store.
Voting in each matchup starts at 8 a.m. CT on the opening date and stops at 4:00 p.m. CT on the closing date.
Schedule
- Play-in Round: 3/4 – 3/5
- Round of 32: 3/6 – 3/12
- Round of 16: 3/13 – 3/18
- Quarterfinals: 3/19 – 3/21

Note
We’ve provided short descriptions of each movie, giving you the gist of the plot in case you haven’t seen it.
While anyone can view the bracket, you must be logged in to cast your vote. The system will only accept ONE vote per user per matchup. The totals will only be displayed after voting closes.
After making your selection, you may jump back to the bracket to place your next vote.
Points
For each vote you cast, you will earn 150 THWACK® points. You heard right – that’s a total of 4,800 THWACK points up for grabs! Who said being a movie critic couldn’t pay off? All points will be tallied and awarded within five business days of the winner being announced on March 29, 2024.
Visit the official THWACK Bracket Battle page and may the odds of your favorite film making it to the end be ever in your favor.
