THWACK Monthly Mission - January 2022

Ein, the data-obsessed canine, was the ultimate tool for the space cowboy who relies on the best suite of tools to bring in his bounty. Granted, we aren’t fortunate enough to have a Pembroke Welsh corgi with hyperintelligence sitting in our toolbox, but we do have a myriad of other ways to get the job done. Some involve efficiency; others include Spike Spiegel’s stamp of approval for getting the job done with style.

This January, we’re going to look at tools available to help wrangle in remote users and support their various needs remotely. Space is vast and can sometimes feel isolated and alone, even for a cowboy. That’s why your remote team needs you. You could be the one person in the universe who can help get the things they need done. This month’s weekly prizes include cool gadgets, some tech that adds a little “oomph” to the remote working space, and even a standing desk, to name a few.

Use the mission’s resources to complete the tasks and answer the questions for a chance to win!

Answer each question correctly during the week and you'll be entered for a chance to win the weekly prize.

Answer all 20 questions correctly over the course of the month and you'll be entered for a chance to win the grand prize.

150 points are being awarded for each correctly answered question. There are 20 questions, which means you can earn a maximum of 3,000 points for this mission.

  • My understanding of these missions is that they are intended to encourage engagement and learning in the user base while exposing us to products we might not be aware of. Answers that are hidden in sub links off of the hint page, such is the case for the January 14 question, do none of these things. I do these missions for mildly entertaining information and the chance to win free things, but if it continues to be a source of irritation and frustration instead of entertainment, I'll be gone. I'm sure I'm not alone in this sentiment.

  •  today's answer choices are all within the hint link. It requires fully reading the page, encouraging users to learn more about what free tools we offer (besides just the answer choice). Remember these are just for fun.

Comment Children
  • I couldn't see the answer without clicking another link, which I did not even notice until I saw it pointed out in another comment. Maybe that wasn't intentional, or maybe the tiles shown on the main page shuffle for different page views, but the answer I did not select was not directly visible on the page that was linked as the hint. "Just for fun" is exactly my point. It's not fun if it becomes a game of avoiding "gotcha's" instead of just looking for answers that are readily available.

  • Yeah, but "Just for Fun" shouldn't include a secondary link, unless it's 100% obvious. I CTRL+F that page from the link, and the keyword I needed to find, wasn't there. So how would I know that your page on "Free Tools" is incomplete? I assumed these were all the free tools you have ... it's misleading. Please reset Jan 14 please.
