THWACK Mini-Mission - June 2025
We’ve been counting the days to THWACK’s birth month, and it’s finally here! This June 9, we’ll be turning 22, and in honor of this momentous occasion, we’re celebrating in the best way possible with a cryptogram puzzle.
These last 22 years have been about learning, growing together, and building the best community in IT. We love watching this group of IT pros create a sense of camaraderie every month, so without further ado, let’s kick off the pre-birthday celebrations with a mind-bending puzzle to solve!
JUNE MINI MISSION
Use the mission’s resources to complete the tasks and answer the questions for a chance to win!
Answer all 10 questions correctly and you'll be entered for a chance to win the grand prize. 150 points are being awarded for each correctly answered question. There are 10 questions, which means you can earn a maximum of 1,500 points for this mission.
All the questions will open starting on June 2, 2025. They will remain open until June 15, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. CT.
Grand Prize:
Answer all ten (10) questions correctly and be entered into a drawing to win an Insta360 X3! Winner to be announced Monday, June 16th.
Instructions:
- Each word is an encrypted version of a real technology term.
- Use logic, pattern recognition, and a little IT intuition to determine which letters map to which.
- The same substitute pattern applies to all the words, so cracking one helps you with the others.
- Think about common prefixes, suffixes, and terms you know from the world of IT.
- Need a hint? Try spotting double letters or recurring letter positions for clues.
Pro Tips:
- Try decoding the shorter words first—like #4 or #5—to get momentum.
- Keep a key chart handy to track your letter swaps as you go.
- Have fun! Bragging rights await the fastest solver.
