the upgrade to 2020.2 is well worth it. Lots of really cool stuff in basic Orion that impacts every module. You will love it

I can't help directly but can point you in a self-help direction There are several ways in Orion to build queries that will give you the basic syntax you can translate to external apps. Assuming you have the 2020.2 release and the nice new dashboards, you could build a modern dashboard and use the table widget and its…

NCM polling is configured in NCM settings, NPM (CLI) polling configured through NPM. Polling interval hasn't been an issue in the past for us on our PA's even left on the default 5 minutes. Give it try on one device so you can see what it does.
-
this screen is just letting you configure the credentials that NCM will use to connect to the PA. Once its able to login you will be able to use the rest of the NCM features.

Mine isn't a tech question as such. But rather, what does it take to move a feature request along the path to it becoming a delivered feature. I ask this because from the outside looking in we can see some requests turn into reality but others seemingly languish. Basically, can you show the progress of an FR from selection…

Thats weird! It looks like the link should work but it diverts off somewhere else. I've messaged the PM. In case you're looking for it, the page is here. https://thwack.solarwinds.com/t5/WPM-Documents/WHAT-WE-RE-WORKING-ON-FOR-WPM-Updated-July-15-2020/ta-p/510064

I used to think that "cloud" just meant somebody else's data center - but with more experience I see the difference. While it is possible to just build in the cloud the same way you always have in your data center, the real benefits come when you you use services and automation to build your scale and only pay when you're…

Kind of in the middle here - but depends on how you frame the question. Not planning on replacing the traditional style FC attached mega unit SAN Instead, migrating all of the storage over to hyperconverged compute/storage devices with no dedicated storage device. For us that makes more sense than having a huge monolithic…

I originally responded wondering about using a file monitor instead, but that may not work in your case, especially if the page has very little html content to check. Your problem is that the popup for downloading a file is not part of the content of the page. Is it possible to monitor the preceding page or are you trying…
-
It sounds like there is a check that is timing out or not getting the response its expecting. It may be worth trying a recording that has no checks to make sure there is nothing in the page that is getting in the way. Then start modifying the recording and adding the checks back in.

As we use NSX and are starting downtime automation path for our VMs - tagging is extremely useful

just to check, what other Solarwinds modules do you have apart from NCM
-
we have - come visit :)

Could you expand on the reasoning for not using a local account? I ask because everything in the linux environment runs as some kind of user, be it root or another account. The OS doesn't have the concept of not using an account.

I love - LOVE - the Solarwinds D20 dice set. I also discovered the delights of the "break my day" mugs. Because they have that awesome non-stick coating on the inside, they don't get coffee stained. So it gets used for coffee during the day - and beer at night. The perfect combination for a work from home world

This is a SAM template, not a UnDP. Safest way to import is to use SAM and search from the "Shared Templates on Thwack" inside Manage Templates. If you want to build a UnDP though, the template may well give you all the snmp OIDs you need. Really that's all a template is - a collection of snmp OIDs.

count me in

looking forward to this one

so happy to see Network Insight for Palo Alto thank you, thank you!
-
count me in for UX on this

this would be awesome, for the same reasons. Having remote sites with <50 devices, many with <10 devices. Although extending the current agents to get this would be even better. [edit] Darn it I posted this then read further down and saw the post from michal.hrncirik See, I knew it was a good idea.

Outstanding! Can't wait to see the new poller, the Meraki support and the polling/monitoring improvements
-
can't wait to see more of the new release as it starts to arrive

I had a similar question a while ago and ended up setting something like this as my browser homepage. Works every time:) http://servername/orion/summaryview.aspx?ViewID=97&isnocview=true&accountid=user&password=password

a whole bunch of things were changed (upwards) - but they also made it way easier to earn points. Check out the FAQ on earning points at thwack Point System - Updated May 23, 2016 Best way to earn them is participation

Netpath runs from the solarwinds agent, so you can path check from any agent. We use that to see the view from several agent to a single site and get the different paths. Very helpful
-
I remember this from several years ago with a different monitoring tool. AS400 does have snmp support, so a new template can be build from there. Check out the IBM Redbook although it is a little old now [edit] I knew I'd seen it somewhere else! Here is another link to an old thwack post

ugintl you may want to check on the ClearVM forums for our answer. This is a forum for the Solarwinds Virtualization Manager.
