WHD on recent Linux distributions

I am running WHD on CentOS 7.0. With that platform being EOL, I am looking for other options to run WHD on Linux, but all the options are outdated distributions. Are there plans to support more recent Linux distributions? Did anyone succeed to get WHD running on e.g. Ubuntu, Almalinux or Rocky Linux?

  • We are running WHD on Rocky 9. You shouldn't notice any difference between CentOS and Rocky or Alma since they are all Red Hat based. My recommendation is the following:

    1. Get a trial WHD instance running on the target OS you plan to use.

    2. Export your DB and import your DB to said new OS.

    3. Work out kinks on the new instance and then eventually just cutover completely.
