WHD on recent Linux distributions

I have customer running with Centos Stream9 OK. I believe more up to date Linux flavours are being looked at next year to be supported. I think the biggest issue is the database type if you are using the internal Postgres 13 type.

Yes, I am using the internal Postgres 13. You got me thinking though. For Azure hands-on training and WHD testing purposes I might be able to use a Postgres docker in Azure and connect that to a WHD installation on a more recent Linux distro.

If you are going for an external PostgreSQL Database then that will free you from WHD constraints, not sure a Docker is the way to go through as it adds more unnecessary complexity, and if there are problems on the database side, good luck!

We are running WHD on Rocky 9. You shouldn't notice any difference between CentOS and Rocky or Alma since they are all Red Hat based. My recommendation is the following:

1. Get a trial WHD instance running on the target OS you plan to use.

2. Export your DB and import your DB to said new OS.

3. Work out kinks on the new instance and then eventually just cutover completely.
