UDT Device Tracker Unknown Vendor

Trying to understand why approximately 30% of the endpoints from the OUI Summary Report are coming up as Company <unknown>

Anyone know why this occurs or how to fix it? I believe normally the company is calculated based on the detected vendor portion of the MAC address.

Is there a way to determine which ports are coming up as company unknown so I can see if there are any similarities etc?

I'm fairly new to using the Device Tracker and appreciate any assistance.

Thank you!

  • I found the MAC addresses assigned to the end points for these <Unknown> in the UDT_OUIReport table. The entries look like:

When I look up the MAC online it comes up as Cisco so not sure what is causing it to come up NULL instead.

When I search these MAC addresses on Device Tracker they don't come down to a direct port connection just several unknown connections. When I check the MAC address table associated with the interfaces reported as unknown connections I don't see this MAC address included.

Starting to look like a support ticket to me so I'm opening one up but if anyone has any ideas or suggestion I'd be happy to hear them!
