Teams Alerting Question

For some reason all of my Solarwinds to Teams alerting stopped working on 7/5.  I was wondering if I may have missed a Microsoft update somewhere or  if I need to update the webhooks that Solarwinds uses in Teams.  Or if someone can point me in the direction of logs so I can see if there are errors in the logs somewhere.

Thanks,

Dave

  • I'v posted a few times about the alert engine.

Restart the alert engine service.  If that fails (roughly 10% of the time) restart the MPE.

Do you have your SQL server in a cluster/AG?  Did it failover (or the SQL server reboot) recently?  There is a known defect that it will cause issues with the alert engine (specifically timer based alerts).

Check out RabbitMQ and see if you have anything backing up.

  • Thanks @monitoringlife

Good to know, one of my timer based alerts fails occasionally. Next time I will go see if anything was goin on with the database.

  • MPE gets rebooted Nightly and I rebooted APE this morning.

    Single Node SQL Cluster

I checked logs on both nodes and nothing there.

I have yet to check out RabbitMQ and see if that is the issue.

This started on 7/5 - and we were in a change freeze due to holiday so no one changed anything.  The only thing I can think of is if  Microsoft pushed out something that I missed.

  • Error out of Alerting Service Log but not sure what it means.  I have this feeling I missed something that MS may have changed.  As a test I setup a new webhook to a different Team and it still did not fire off.
