If there were known bugs or gotchas, it's always listed in the release notes.

There's no way for any vendor to test everything a customer might throw at a solution, but we do our very best to test and notify for anything that gets repeatedly reported.

I'd be careful with the "always listed in the release notes."  I've submitted more than one case only to be told that its a known bug and find that it is NOT in the release notes.  I agree with the sentiment and it should work that way.  But whomever oversees the process of documenting bugs could do a lot better.

So true. I also often gets told in support cases, that a problem I am facing is a know bug on my version and is fixed in the next upgrade, but there almost never is any mention of it in the release notes.

yeah seems like support has an internal bug tracker you can only learn about by opening a ticket 

What do you say to that KMSigma.SWI ?  Is it true that there are publicized known bugs and internal only known bugs??

We don't give public access to our internal bug tracking system.  Multiple bug reports might roll up into a single bug.  It's up the Product Managers to curate what's publicly available.

Unforantely there is no way a company can predict every bug and glitch that may show up depending on various configs and setups. Our policy at my workplace is not to upgrade right away unless there is a security concern and wait a month for the up to date version to bed down.

Course if there is a security concern that the update resolves we do update ASAP though we have our SW platform veery heavily segmented
