We’re pleased to announce the release of SolarWinds® SQL Sentry® 2023.4 is available on the SolarWinds website and in your customer portal.
As with all versions, there are several updates, including bug fixes, code refactoring, and features. We’re especially excited about the enhancements to our Environment Health Overview and Top SQL dashboard in Portal.
What’s New?
Improvements to Enhanced Environment Health Overview (EHO) in SQL Sentry Portal
In our 2023.4 release, SQL Sentry is enhancing its Environment Health Overview with several important features. We have introduced vital metrics, including CPU, Transactions per second, Total Waits, and Query Regressions. These metrics are presented with two-minute resolution values and a comparison to the same timestamp 24 hours ago, helping users easily identify deviating trends.
Query Regressions (in preview) highlights potential issues by flagging queries with a total average duration that exceeds the average duration of the last 24 hours by 50%, marking them as regressions.
Additionally, EHO has improved its Health Alerts by displaying alert descriptions alongside other functionalities like viewing message details, closing/acknowledging alerts, and assigning them. This enhancement aims to make complex alerts more understandable, especially for new users, and provides links to explore related content for better comprehension and management.
Top SQL Enhancements
Previously, the Top SQL dashboard in Portal presented a combined view of completed queries and procedure/query stats in the same grid. Our latest release introduced a new Top SQL view, which separates these event types for a more user-friendly experience.
Additionally, the totals view for completed queries now includes information for regressed queries (in preview), quickly showing users what an events current average duration is and how it has changed in the last 24 hours.
