SolarWinds SQL Sentry 2023.3 is now generally available!

We’re pleased to announce the release of SolarWinds® SQL Sentry® 2023.3 is available on the SolarWinds website and in your customer portal.

As with all versions, there are several updates, including bug fixes, code refactoring, and features. We’re especially excited about the newly added query-level Wait Stats and our Enhanced Environment Health Overview (EHO).

What’s new?

  • Query-level Wait Stats –
    • In SQL Sentry 2023.2, we released Wait Stats behind a feature flag. This allowed users to test the new capabilities and provide valuable feedback to the product team. In SQL Sentry 2023.3, we are fully releasing Wait Stats and Wait Analytics, extending the troubleshooting and performance tuning capabilities in SQL Sentry.
    • With 2023.3, SQL Sentry users now have a more complete view of the workloads running on their environment. Users can now more easily identify their top applications, databases, hosts, and users by multiple dimensions (including waits). Additionally, all captured events are built to show a detailed breakdown of the waits experienced during the executions.

  • Enhanced Environment Health Overview –
    • The Environment Health Overview dashboard in SQL Sentry is one of the most popular views in the product. It is designed to provide an at-a-glance health status of your environment using a 100-point scale score. This scale score is based on a number of factors, including the severity of triggered alerts, the number of occurrences, the age of the Advisory Conditions, and more.
    • In 2023.3, we’re releasing our new Enhanced Environment Health Overview in SQL Sentry Portal. Enhanced EHO can provide you with a health score history and an updated alerts grid with alert details and allows users to assign alerts, leave notes, and close events. Additionally, it provides an at-a-glance group/site view for deeper insights into the servers experiencing a wide variety of issues, allowing for faster root cause analysis. We will continue to build on the functionality provided in the Enhanced EHO dashboard going forward.
