Onboarding Staff Workflow

Hi,

We have created an Onboarding Staff Request workflow, with some tasks assigned to different groups of people after it has been approved. e.g. The Finance group gets a task to create the user in our employee system. However when I log in as the finance user, I cannot see this task anywhere on the portal. Is this not an automatic task that gets created, or does someone still have to do something to get it going even though it has been Approved? How does the finance user see the task if they cannot view the job?

The user documentation hasn't helped us for this question.

    When using SolarWinds Service Desk for creating an Onboarding Staff Request workflow, the following steps and checks can help resolve the issue where the finance user cannot see their assigned task:

    Verify Workflow Configuration

    1. Workflow Setup:

      • Ensure that the Onboarding Staff Request workflow is correctly configured. Check that the Finance group is indeed assigned the task to create the user in the employee system after approval.
    2. Task Assignment:

      • Confirm that tasks are assigned to the correct user group (Finance) within the workflow settings. 

    User Permissions and Roles

    1. User Permissions:

      • Verify that the finance users have the appropriate permissions to view and manage tasks assigned to their group. This includes checking their roles and ensuring they are service task user not requester.

    2. Group Membership:

      • Ensure that the finance user is correctly added to the Finance group within SolarWinds Service Desk.

    Task Visibility

    1. Task View:

      • Task & Approval: Tell them to check this tab in portal where their all tasks will be visible.
