how to change asset check in time?

Question

Currently working with vendor on demo of software. I have been informed that assets check in after 24 hours of up time. That means if computer is only on for 8 hours per day computer will not check in until after 3 days. 
 
 Can this be changed? Can you have a task that runs to update? I am concern about deploying software and not having an accurate count until 4 days after potential install.

 You could create a windows service to force a sync at an interval, or what we did which is force a sync via powershell script at user login. The login script tended to get us the most accurate information about who's actively using the device. Just make sure not to force a sync too frequently. 
 If you go the user login route, make sure your powershell is written to ignore any logins by usernames starting with "defaultuser". There can be "defaultuser1000"/"defaultuser10001"/etc logins caused by some events that you won't want to trigger the sync. 
 
 There may be another location where you can set the check-in frequency, however I'm not sure if it's supported and I haven't tested setting it, so I'll leave that for SPSDude and joeybrown to answer.
