June 22 Labs Release for SolarWinds®︎ Service Desk: Dark Mode
Dark mode is now available in labs for SolarWinds Service Desk! This release introduces a sleek, visually comfortable interface designed to reduce eye strain and support sustained focus throughout the workday.
Built with the needs of busy service desk agents in mind, dark mode helps boost comfort and productivity—especially during long hours in high-volume environments. Rather than simply inverting colors, we carefully selected a deep blue background and complementary secondary tones to minimize visual fatigue and make longer sessions easier on the eyes. All colors were tested to meet WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards, offering sufficient contrast and readability for everyone.
In addition to visual comfort, dark mode can offer energy savings. On OLED displays, black pixels require less power and switching from light to dark mode at full brightness can reduce display energy use by up to 39–47%.
Whether you're working in a bright space, low-light environment, or just prefer a more subdued visual style, dark mode offers a comfortable experience to help ITSM teams stay productive throughout the day. And with Service Desk, it’s easy to choose the experience that works best for you. To learn more, see Setup: Labs.
