The more I look into this, the more confused I get.  I had on-prem, Orion Platform which I thought was being rebranded as Solarwinds Platform.  I upgraded to 2022.3 and under Program Filles I see it is now called Solarwinds Observability.  But you're saying that is the name for SAAS offering.  These terms are confusing, and it seems they are being used very loosely.  Am I missing something?

Orion is the name of our On-Prem A la Carte Products like NPM, NTA, ....

HCO - Hybrid Cloud Obser is the name of our On-Prem bundled offering that includes a set of one or more A la Carte products.

There are certain capabilities that will only be available in HCO vs standalone Orion products - e.g. AI OPs Anomaly detection for Alert noise reduction, Advanced Cloud Monitoring capabilities etc

Solarwinds Observability or SWO is our SaaS Solution that was launched a few days ago. Most of what you know  as Orion/HCO applications (NPM, NTA, NCM, IPAM) , (SAM,VMAN,SRM,.SCM) will be available over time in SWO as well

Thank you pawelbikeman, I agree with your question.

In my organization we are interested in some of the features of Observability (like AppOptics), but not wishing to dive headlong into a full-cloud solution.

Would be great if someone in the community could point to a good side-by-side feature comparison between Orion (on-prem) and HCO, along with a suggested road map for those with a large investment in Orion that want to adopt some features of HCO without giving up all that investment and expertise in the on-prem platform.

This is where this is a bit of confusion from the marketing department. HCO (Hybrid Cloud Observability) is not a cloud/SaaS offering. We went from On-Prem SolarWinds to On-Prem SolarWinds HCO. Nothing really changed. We got some new modules and have not chosen to enable AppOptics at this point. Mught be a bit dated but this is what comes with HCO

We also have WPM and SRM which are not part of the HCO bundle currently. (wink wink SW). Still hoping on seeing SQL Sentry soon as well.

Hello Peter. It would be awesome if Solar Winds could provide a feature matrix/guide on how Solar Winds Orion, HCO and SWO accomodate one another.

I saw mentions of SWO eventually supporting everything Orion and HCO have, but just mentioned it will be a while. When is a while?

We are currently working on a proof of concept to verify what Orion, HCO and SWO can provide us compared to SW's competitors; DataDog, Dynatrace, New Relic, etc.

For todays hybrid solution. What would your recommendations be if using Orion? Move to HCO and get the platform connect working with SWO? We need a full stack solution for our on-prem and Azure cloud platforms.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.
