Solarwinds compatibility issue of monitoring Azure Load Balancer and Application gateway resources, please suggest any script?

Some of this is already provided via internal monitoring and templates (provided you are relatively current on your SolarWinds Self Hosted/HCO version). I have listed links to much of the azure monitoring information. This will help with setting up monitoring. The last group of links are related to azure metrics. There are some limitations (imposed by Azure) on what data you can collect and how often,etc.

Azure Monitor and Log Analytics data integration. I would look at the Azure Monitoring APi: Azure monitoring REST API walkthrough - Azure Monitor | Microsoft Learn

and the log analytics API: Log Analytics REST API | Microsoft Learn

You would setup APM Templates or use the SolarWinds API Poller to create a template to collect the available metrics.

Beyond that I hope other thwacksters add details on how they have brought data into SolarWinds self hosted/HCO platform. 

As to data mapping. You are collecting the data directly via API in most cases - so it is a matter of using or choosing the relevant metrics from the API. You may find some metrics are very useful to troubleshoot or determine when things are not correct. Then that gives you information on thresholds and alerting. 

Metric Calculation. Please look at the polling information below and the available API values that you can collect. I would look at microsoft recommendations as they may be more useful than any out of the box standards. You can set your thresholds based on those recommendations and look at setting calculated baselines. 

I would use the templates and look for warnings or error values in those templates to start with. Azure permissions require attention as Azure is very granular in allocating permissions and how they are applied to your monitoring permissions. In other words, if something should work, but is forbidden - you will need to check permissions in azure. This is in addition to any firewalls or filters that are setup around your SolarWinds monitoring environment.
