Excluding a volume label from a disk free space alert.

Hello everyone, the sun is shinning and I have a half decent week. I am trying to get a free disk space (<5%) alert to not trigger on drives with a label of PageFile. I have tried various values such as volume description. The alert for some reason is also picking up memory values. here is the alert details... Please can anyone assist. BTW the trigger is the second screen shot. Many thanks in advance

  • Sorry folks, I decided to try adding the exclusions to the trigger actions and that reduced the number of matches from 43 to 22 which I think has sorted my problem.

To clarify if I want to exclude something from an alert it is best to put the exclude in the trigger actions and not in the following objects section?

And sorry if I have wasted anyone's time, I was convinced the exclusion would have been the object and not the trigger.

Thanks and have a good weekend.

  • You may consider using the scoping feature in the future if possible. Scope the alert to specific entities or exclude specific entities. This helps keep your actual trigger conditions cleaner and is a best practice recommendation when possible.

  • Thanks for the reply. I was already using the scoped option. The issue turned out to be that I was using volume which includes memory, I should use FixedDisk which does not include memory.
