Is there a method to backup Orion network maps? Network Atlas is no longer supported so we transitioned to Orion maps

Are you referring to network atlas maps?  If so there is not really anything i've seen and since they ended development on atlas a while back I wouldnt expect that to change.

I updated the question to clarify that we use Orion Mapping.

Not out of the box, but you can always open a map and so a Save As...

We'd have to do that 574 times to start with and every time we schedule a backup.  Not feasible.

I haven't written code to make it happen yet on the maps tables, but in ye olden days I was dumping the contents of certain database tables to our Git repo so i could diff and restore them when I needed.

Do you want to save a map in base someone screws it up?  So, you can selectively restore it?  I'm trying to find the use case here.

Yes, pretty much.  We also have the issue with SolarWinds when you replace a device (such as a switch) with a different device and keep the same IP.  SolarWinds will not 'forget' the old interfaces so we have to delete the node and rediscover.  When you delete the node, it is automatically removed from the maps.  It's nice to see how everything was connected in the first place, and a archive database would help with that.

You can always run an export from the API of content in the Orion.Maps entity, but it's mostly a bunch of ugly JSON and I'm not 100% sure it would get everything.

Would turning on the History function provide you with the same benefit?  

Yeah that does not scale well. I am going to add a feature request to the back log to see about adding a verb to the SDK that will allow for bulk saving of maps and as a stretch perhaps a UI to do the same in the console.
