While configuring the new alert , I am not able to send test email in trigger action.

How can i configure email alert in trial version? Any specific details or configuration that needs to be checked.

Do you have a valid SMTP server in your organization to which you can connect to ?

No,I just tried to do some SMTP configurations to see if it'll work, so the only way to receive emails from SolarWinds is through SMTP server? and do we have SMS options in SW without using any other application/tool?

How do you plan on sending an email alert, without an email server to go through ..?

Definitely gotta have that configured in order to process it. If I recall correctly you can leverage gmail or O365 as well, though that takes some additional configuration.
