SolarWinds Platform and Products—Release Candidate Version 2024.1 is Now Available!
We’re excited to announce a release candidate (RC) for version 2024.1 of the SolarWinds® Platform, SolarWinds® Hybrid Cloud Observability, and the Network and Systems modules. Version 2024.1 RC is now available for all customers under maintenance, so log in to your customer portal to download it. Want to see everything new? Check out the Release Notes.
Improved SD-WAN Monitoring
Based on your feedback and prevalence in the market, we have added support for Palo Alto Prisma (formerly Cloudgenix) SDWAN. This includes support for the orchestrator, edge devices, uplink and VPN monitoring, and packet loss, jitter and latency metrics.
Anomaly-Based Alerts (HCO Advanced only)
Anomaly-Based Alerts (ABA) can now be created using an OR operator to alert when any conditions are met. This is in addition to the existing AND operator, allowing more flexible alert conditions.
A new Getting Started with Anomaly-Based Alerts widget introduces Anomaly-Based Alerting and provides an overview of the process for using Platform Connect to set up these alerts. It also clarifies that while these alerts require a SolarWinds® Observability account, after Platform Connect has been set up, an active SolarWinds Observability license is not required.
AlertStack
AlertStack integrates with ServiceNow®, so a single incident can be created in ServiceNow from an alert cluster.
New Functionality in Intelligent Maps
Wireless Heat Maps are now available in Intelligent Maps.
- Map management page contains both intelligent maps and wireless heatmaps.
- Users can filter them by “Project type“.
- Wireless heatmaps also have a new icon that distinguishes them from default maps.
Vulnerability Dashboard and Risk Scorecard Improvements (HCO Advanced Exclusive)
We are excited to continue expanding our security observability capabilities with vulnerability information now available for VMware ESXi and VMware vCenter as well. Another change is that the risk score widget is now a colored spectrum and not a number.
New Cloud Summary Dashboard for Azure (HCO Exclusive)
We are revamping the summary pages related to cloud-based entities monitored in HCO. Starting with 2024.1 we have introduced a new Azure summary dashboard that allows you to see your Azure objects more clearly with a refreshed UI.
WPM Transaction Conversion Tool
Internet Explorer based transactions will be removed from the product in a future version. We know that many customers have large numbers of IE based transactions still running and we are providing a new tool to help automate the process of moving your transactions from IE to Chromium.
Platform Connect Additions (HCO Exclusively)
For those who have started enabling and using the Platform Connect feature to send data to our SaaS based monitoring solution (SWO), we enabled the ability to send data from servers (SAM) and virtual resources (VMAN).
Platform Improvements
The following improvements have been made to the overall platform:
- Improved stability and performance for alerting, agents, PerfStack, and reporting.
- Admins can add new restrictions on local account passwords.
- Bug and security fixes.
Security Always
We focus on securely coding, building, and delivering software to you. SolarWinds Aims to Set New Standard in Software Development With Next-Generation Build System. The choices we made in forging the SolarWinds Platform align with our Secure by Design philosophy, enhancing our ability to execute this vision now and in the future.
