Forum Has anyone had good results monitoring 5g devices in NPM? If so, any suggestions on setting up efficiently?

Has anyone had good results monitoring 5g devices in NPM? If so, any suggestions on setting up efficiently?

We are currently using vendor provided portals and email alerting from those portals to address our cellular data equipment.

We would like to monitor those devices within NPM for alerting/historical/statisitcal data via SNMP or API. (Whichever is better or recommended)

Pulling the data into solarwinds via api/webhook is also something we'd consider. Right now we are toying with using prometheus scrapes, but I would prefer to keep things centralized within our massive Solarwinds environment.

Has anyone had success with this, and if you have, can you recommend some Universal Device Poller config options?

We had a customer who asked us to monitor their 4/5G backup lines.
What they didn't tell us is that the IPs were dynamic and changed frequently, or that connections would drop if a large truck passed in front of them.
When they baulked at the idea of paying for static IPs, we gave up monitoring their backup lines.

We have access to the vendor's portal, which allows for api access. The device registrations, status, signal strength etc are all in that portal. So static/dynamic would not matter if there is a way to pull that data for ingestion into Solarwinds. Right now I am attempting scrapes from prometheus to display the dat in grafana, but having that data in solarwinds would be a much nicer option.
