Feature Release: March 2024 Summary

We’re closing out the first quarter 2024 strong with some much-requested improvements. SolarWinds Observability is designed with continuous improvement in mind, ensuring you always have access to the latest features and enhancements. The updates we provide are part of an ongoing effort to refine and expand our services, and the list shared represents merely a snapshot of our comprehensive update process. Rest assured, our commitment to innovation means more improvements are always being rolled out to enhance your experience.

Enhancements and improvements

This month, we’ve released enhancements and improvements in integrations, digital experience monitoring, databases, network devices, hosts, agents, and infrastructure.

Integrations (Telegraf)

  • Added support for the following integrations:
    • Fluentd
    • HAProxy
    • NGINX Plus API
    • NTPQ
    • StatsD
    • Varnish
  • Entities for Fluentd, HAProxy, NGINX Plus API, NTPQ, and Varnish were added to the Entity Explorer, related metrics are available in the Metrics Explorer.
  • StatsD metrics are available in the Metrics Explorer.

Digital Experience Monitoring (DEM)

  • Public REST API support for Website entity Create/Update/Delete (CUD) operations

Databases

  • Added Wait time stats widgets to Query Details, Entity Explorer, and Databases Overview.
  • Added a Clear All button to the Inspector.
  • Events tab indicates the inclusion of internal queries.
  • Added Visual Explain plans for samples that have raw explain plans available.

Network

  • Network Collector and SolarWinds Platform Connect were added to Agent-based integrations in Settings. You can enable/disable integrated collector and Platform Connect instances.

Hosts

  • An option to Edit Agent Name/Host Display Name was added to the Summary step of the Add Host wizard.

Agents

  • Support for Degraded status was added to the Filters and Connections column on the Agents page.

Infrastructure

  • A Sensors tab with hardware health details was added for the Server details page.
