SCM Without Agent or Domain Admin Service Account?

My company is very wary of installing additional agents on our servers. At SWUG, another idea was to use a Domain Admin service account which won't fly with our security team. Is there a way to use a customized service account that isn't a Domain Admin? Thanks!

I've been testing for CIS Benchmark Compliance, and have it build for Server 2002 works well, however the requirement is an Agent is going to let this product down for us. Feature request to enable the functionality without an agent is here..other tools allow this, so it shouldn't be an issue for SolarWinds either. Perhaps it just limits they type of checks you can do.
