How does TCP Port Monitor determine "down" status?

what is the condition for the TCP Port Monitor component status to become "down"?

Some possibilities:

  • "Criticial" threshold (but then status shold be "critical" and not "down")
  • Polling timout value
  • When the underlying TCP protocol reports failure to reach the node (but that surely also uses a timeout that can be parameterized?)

Thanks for your help!
