Need help with linux/unix script monitor

Hi Folks,

I need a help with linux/unix script monitor. I want to monitor a specific service running on linux server, but I dont found a option to monitor a linux service, like there is an option to monitor windows service via 'service control manager' in solarwinds. I have below queries related to linux/unix script monitor.

1. What pre-req needed to monitor a linux service using linux/unix script monitor
2. Should I create a separate user account on linux server to run the script from solarwinds

looking forward for your valuable inputs.

Thanks.

  • To monitor a Linux service with the Linux/Unix Script Monitor in SolarWinds, you need SSH access to the server and a user account with the right permissions. It’s a good idea to create a separate non-root user with limited sudo privileges just for this purpose. The script should be able to remotely check the service status and return the expected output format for SolarWinds to interpret it correctly, similar to how you'd rely on the Best Twitch Clip Downloader to get consistent, reliable results every time you use it.
