New release 15.3.2 - Not Happy

Previously I had a concept of running Serv-U with a NAmed service Account.

Seems the new Release to 15.2.3 requires the SERV-U service to be run under "NETWORK-SERVICE" and assigning permissions to Install folder and users Home drives

I followed the article at Running Serv-U under NETWORK SERVICE (solarwinds.com)

Now this update has effectively Blow my Multiple Domain Configuration totally away

NOT HAppy JAN!

Solarwinds should support Service Accounts!

Now my clients Cant Login and I have applied 15.3.2 HF1

The option to allow non RFC clients is not available to me

The issue with not logging in could be either the non RFC option which you should find in Limits & Settings > Advanced. Or, it could be a case-sensitive username issue which exists in 15.3.2 HF1, check the case of your usernames in Serv-U and in your client application/config.

Thanks calc2014 I forgot to update the Client Folder. Still getting login failures even after applying. My Users are LDAP and have tried both cases. I have a ticket with support

Does the exact uppercase/lowercase access of the username match on the client and Serv-U ends?

So I Have been on Leave and have returned with a calmer mindset!

Solarwinds have pointed me to new release 15.4.0 as of 18 May

I will plan to perform the following steps

Uninstall completely

Re Install 15.3.1 (prior to server identity)

Import my test config and review

ensure I can login to sftp and https sites

backup my config again, and serv-u files

Upgrade to 15.4, create new server identity

retest

Need some free time to do all this between my projects and BAU role

I have revisited this and performed the following steps:

Uninstall Serv-u completely.

Clean up Install directory

clean Install 15.3.1 (prior to server identity)

Import my test config, licence and review settings\ LDAP config and Encryption settings

Ensured I can login to sftp and https MFT sites on 15.3.1

backup my config again, and serv-u files, stop serv-u and any associated processes.

Upgrade to 15.4, create new server identity.

retest SFTP and HTTPS logins

I finally managed to get my test user to log in to both SFTP and HTTPS MFT Domains.

I suspect there may have been issue with my LDAP configuration and Encryption files\Keys

Interesting that I did not apply “Allow non-RFC compliant SSH Protocol Version exchange” in my tests

So in summary Serv-U 15.4 with server Identity provided a way foward for me
